Studying a young club app: what actually moves your win rate on FishPoker

Baseline first, exploitation second

Game-theory-optimal play is a floor, not a ceiling. If your line differs from the solved one and you can explain exactly why, given what you know about the person across from you, that is exploitation and it is probably right. Working out how the correct strategy bends against each of them is real work, and it is work you do between sessions, calmly, not in the four seconds you have while the clock runs.

Reading your own numbers in context

VPIP, PFR and aggression frequency are worth having only when they come from your own play and are read against the right backdrop. A 24/19 line means one thing at a loose PLO table and something completely different in a tight short-deck game. Splitting those numbers by position and by format is what turns a vague feeling into a task: not "I think I am too passive" but "I check back the turn 71% of the time in a spot where the solved line barrels two-thirds of the time." The first sentence leads nowhere. The second one you can drill by Thursday.

What none of this fixes

Software does not decide your month. A perfectly executed strategy still loses over a weekend, and a badly rolled player at the wrong stake goes broke while making good decisions the whole way down. Review reduces the mistakes you control and does absolutely nothing about the ones you do not. Anyone selling you a guaranteed win rate, a fixed percentage improvement or a risk-free edge is selling you something other than what they claim, and the rest of their claims deserve the same suspicion.
